If someone had told me a year ago that I would finally feel confident showing my face from every angle, I honestly wouldn’t have believed them.
For years, I felt like something was off about my appearance. My lower face looked wide, my nose looked obviously “done,” and my eyes always seemed tired no matter how much I slept.
More than anything, I wanted my face to look smaller, softer, and younger but I didn’t want people to notice that I had surgery.
I wanted to look like a better version of myself, not like a different person.
During my consultation with Dr. Jeong at DL Plastic Surgery,
I brought photos of actress Shin Min-a as a reference.
I loved how her face still has natural definition,
but her lower face appears short, balanced, and elegant.
I explained that I wanted a similar feeling not to copy someone else’s face, but to achieve a naturally youthful and refined appearance.
Instead of focusing on just one area, Dr. Jeong explained that creating the appearance of a shorter midface is about balancing the entire face. After carefully examining my facial proportions, he recommended combining facial contouring, revision rhinoplasty, eye surgery, and full-face fat grafting to improve the overall harmony of my features.

Dr. Jeong’s Surgical Recommendations
Treatment Goals
- Create a smaller, more balanced facial appearance.
- Achieve the visual effect of a shorter midface through facial harmony.
- Maintain a natural look without an overdone appearance.
Recommended Procedures
Facial Contouring
- Cheekbone Reduction
- Square Jaw Reduction
- Chin Contouring
These procedures would slim the width of my face, soften my jawline, and create better overall facial balance.
Paranasal Augmentation (Silicone Implant)
To improve support around the base of my nose and create a smoother transition between the nose and midface.
Revision Rhinoplasty
- Silicone Implant
- Septal Cartilage
- Ear Cartilage
- Irradiated Donor Rib Cartilage
- Nasal Tip Debulking
My previous nose looked too high between the eyebrows and had a bulky, artificial-looking tip.
Dr. Jeong redesigned my nose with a softer bridge, a slimmer tip, and a more elegant profile that blended naturally with my face.
Eye Surgery
- Incisional Double Eyelid Surgery
- Epicanthoplasty (Inner Corner)
- Lateral Canthoplasty
- Lower Canthoplasty
These procedures were recommended to make my eyes appear larger, brighter, and more open while maintaining a soft, feminine expression.
Full-Face Fat Grafting
To restore volume in areas that appeared flat, especially the cheeks, under-eye region, and around the nasolabial folds.
This would create more facial projection and enhance the appearance of a shorter, more youthful midface.

My Recovery Journey
Before Surgery
I wasn’t looking for dramatic change I simply wanted my face to feel more balanced.
My biggest insecurity was that my face looked wide and slightly long, especially in photos.
I also disliked how obvious my previous rhinoplasty looked.
Although I was excited for surgery, I was also nervous because I was having multiple procedures done at the same time.

1 Month Post-Op
The first month was definitely the hardest.
There was still quite a bit of swelling, especially around my cheeks and jaw.
My nose also looked higher than I expected, but Dr. Jeong reassured me that this was completely normal and that the swelling would continue to improve over the coming months.
Even through the swelling, I could already tell that my face looked more balanced.

3 Months Post-Op
This was when I started noticing the biggest changes.
The swelling had reduced significantly, and my facial contour became much more defined. My eyes looked brighter and more open, while my nose began settling into a softer, more natural shape.
Friends started telling me that I looked younger and healthier without realizing I had undergone surgery which was exactly what I had hoped for.

4 Months Post-Op
By this point, everything looked much more natural.
My jawline had become noticeably slimmer, my cheeks had a beautiful amount of volume, and my nose no longer looked “operated on.”
The combination of facial contouring and fat grafting made my face appear smaller while also giving it more dimension. Looking back at old photos, I realized how much my facial proportions had changed.

6 Months Post-Op
At six months, I truly started enjoying my results.
I loved taking photos from every angle, and for the first time in years, I didn’t feel the need to edit every selfie before posting it.
People often commented that I looked refreshed or that I had lost weight, but no one could tell exactly why.
That was the biggest compliment.

Almost One Year Later
It has now been almost one year since my surgery, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
Everything feels completely natural now.
My nose fits my face beautifully, my facial contour is soft and feminine, and the fat grafting still gives my face a healthy, youthful appearance.
One of my favorite changes is that my face appears much more compact and balanced. Although my midface wasn’t physically shortened, the overall harmony of my features creates the illusion of a shorter midface, making me look younger and more refreshed.
Looking back at my old photos, it’s amazing to see how much has changed while still looking like myself.
This journey wasn’t about becoming someone else it was about finally feeling comfortable with my own reflection.
Choosing Dr. Jeong and the team at DL Plastic Surgery was one of the best decisions
I’ve ever made.
Their attention to detail and focus on facial harmony gave me exactly what I had hoped for: natural, elegant results that continue to improve with time.
I truly love my results, and almost a year later, I still catch myself smiling whenever I look in the mirror.

Overall Satisfaction: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (10/10)

Would I Recommend Dr. Jeong?
Absolutely. Dr. Jeong didn’t simply perform individual procedures he carefully balanced every feature of my face to create a result that feels completely natural.
If you’re looking for subtle yet transformative changes that enhance your own beauty rather than change who you are, I couldn’t recommend him more.
