Before the Surgery

I have long considered getting plastic surgery due to my wide and flat face shape, low nose, and flat front cheek. My forehead is also small and flat, making my face appear cramped, so I always hid my face with bangs and the sides of my hair. On windy days, I would often walk with my head down because of my complex about my face shape. I frequently used beauty apps to heavily edit my selfies, and the desire for the edited version to be my real face grew stronger over time.
After deciding to go through with plastic surgery, I spent a long-time researching clinics. Since I decided to have the surgery in Korea, I gathered as much information as possible before going to Korea. I narrowed down the list of clinics, had online consultations, and thoroughly researched the experience of the surgeons I was interested in. Once in Korea, I visited several of the clinics I had chosen and ultimately decided to have my surgery at DL Plastic Surgery Clinic. Based on the reviews, the results looked like what I was hoping for. I also felt confident because the doctor had extensive experience at major hospitals and had given numerous presentations on plastic surgery.
Ever since I was young, doctors have always seemed a bit intimidating to me, but Dr. Jeong was incredibly kind and attentive to my concerns, which made him feel very approachable. I also liked the sophisticated interior and color scheme of the clinic. It aligned with Dr. Jeong’s philosophy that creating a design that suits my face rather than just following trends would lead to greater long-term satisfaction. I’ll be back with another review after the surgery!
Week 1

The first week after surgery felt incredibly long. Although my eye surgery was a revision, I also had facial contouring (three areas), rhinoplasty, pyriform augmentation (to enhance the mid-face), and fat grafting, so I was eager for the swelling to go down so I could see my improved appearance. On the day of the surgery, when I just got out of the surgery, I felt drowsy and tired than usual, but there was no pain. Breathing was uncomfortable because of the cotton stuffing placed in my nose, and my throat felt swollen and a bit sore. On the second day, the swelling worsened, and bruising started to become more noticeable. I used ice packs to help reduce the swelling, but it didn’t seem to go down quickly. On the third day, the cotton stuffings were removed from my nose, allowing me to breathe through my nose instead of my mouth, which was a relief, though I still had a runny nose. I tried to take short walks to help reduce the swelling. By the 4th or 5th day, the purple bruises started turning yellow. On the 7th day, the splint was removed from my nose, and I could finally see the shape of my nose. Though there was still some swelling, the change in my profile was clear. Every time I went to DL for check-ups, they provided various treatments like oxygen domes and laser treatments, which made me feel very satisfied.
Week 2

Now that much of the swelling has subsided, I feel increasingly satisfied each day. During my follow-up visits, they gave me contouring and swelling reduction injections to the still-swollen areas, and they also took a CT scan to compare the before and after, showing me how much the bone structure had changed. Dr. Jeong and the staff have continued to be kind, explaining everything thoroughly and providing various aftercare treatments, which I really appreciate.
1 Month

It’s finally been a month since the surgery! Now that the swelling has gone down and I’m getting used to my new face, I can hardly remember what I looked like before. I can finally record videos without needing any filters, which is something I’ve always wished for. Since my selfies come out beautifully without any filters, I’ve been taking even more of them. I’ve heard that the remaining swelling will subside, and I’ll look even better and more natural, so I’m really looking forward to seeing the results in three months. Of course, I’m already very satisfied! Whenever I had any concerns or questions, I could contact the clinic and get quick answers, which was very reassuring. I asked a lot of questions, and they were always kind and patient in their responses, which I really appreciated.
2 Months

It’s already been two months. It feels like the surgery happened so long ago. Now that my face is slimmer and my nose is more defined, even just a little bit of makeup looks great and makes me feel good every time I put it on. After seeing my improved appearance, even my mom is considering getting a facelift! I also realized how well-organized DL Plastic Surgery Clinic’s post-op care system is when I compared it with the experiences of friends who had surgery at other clinics.
3 Months

Now, I feel confident and proud when taking selfies at restaurants or outdoors. Before the surgery, I wasn’t confident in my looks, so I would cover part of my face with my hand or hide my facial lines with my hair when taking selfies. But now, I love taking photos showing my profile without hiding anything! My face looks more defined and smaller, which makes my overall proportions look better too. This was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. Thank you, DL!
Now that the swelling has almost completely subsided and I’m back to my daily life with my new look, a lot of people around me are telling me I’ve become prettier. It feels like I’m being rewarded for the difficult times after the surgery. As the swelling decreases and I see how good I look, I find myself wanting to capture my appearance more often, so I take photos frequently and look in the mirror more than before.
